Smokey Bear Run

Noah and Lola went to a race this weekend up at Bass lake. The weather was beautiful and we even got to wear sweatshirts.

Noah ran in the kids 1/4 mile run and he got 3rd place!!!!! Yeah!!!! His time was 2.09.95 and he had a great time. He is so excited to get another trophy and here are some pics with his participation ribbon.

Daddy and Lindsey ran the 10K. They didn't get a trophy, but they had a good time talking and listening to their IPODS (at the same time). We can't wait to get our own IPODS to run with.

Everyone else did the 2 mile walk. Noah walked one of the miles while Lola rode in the stroller. For mile 2, Noah got in the stroller while Lola rode in the wrap. We took some pics afterward... boy are our butts in shape...

We then had a nice picnic lunch by the lake and we are looking forward to doing a few more races next year.

Swinging Time

It was cool enough for us to try out Noah's old swing. Did she like it? See for yourself...

New Tricks

Just one week ago Lola Reed was toppling over onto her face from her sit. Now, she can sit for close to 15 minutes and even lean forward to reach for toys. There are times when she almost goes over, but is able to gain her balance back - it is fun to watch.

She does occasionally fall over backwards when she gets excited. This is a hard fall since our floors are wood, but even so, she rarely cries.

It is so hard to believe she is getting so big!!!

Future Paleontologist??

Noah has a large list of things he wants to be when he grows up...
1- a house cleaner
2- a car washer
3- a house builder (he wants to be the person that tells everyone else what to do)
4- a paleontologist

And he wants to do them all at the same time.

Here he is practicing the skills for the last one. He got a kit from the school book fair that allowed him to use a hammer and chisel to discover treasure and a treasure chest. He had a great time, but boy was it messy. Thank goodness we were outside.

Playing Around

Exciting Day !!!

We got tired of Lola Reed staring at us while we eat and since we only have a week until she is 6 months old we decided it was time to start feeding her. We started with some rice cereal mixed with some yummy mommy milk.

As you can see, she doesn't think much of mommy's cooking...

...In fact, she tried to get away at first...

But then, her love of eating over came her and she couldn't get enough...

... After about 12 bites she was done, but overall she seemed to like it. For the next few weeks we will stick to the rice cereal, but we are looking forward to teaching her to like all the things that Noah eats. We are hoping that she will be as adventurous as he is.

Fun at Gamma and Pops

We got to spend the weekend at Gamma and Pops house. The kids had a great time. Lola got to show off her new skill that she just learned on the 5th. She can now sit for brief periods on her own. However, you still have to remain quite close as she is known to topple over right on her face as cousin Natalie quickly learned:)

Rugby Game

We went over to San Luis Obispo for a rugby tournament and we were very lucky to have beautiful weather. Daddy's team did really well, but more importantly we had a great time. A bunch of people came out to the field to play with us (and I suppose to watch Daddy's game too).

Noah spent the day playing with his cousins Jaxon and Andrew. Lola watched intently and can't wait until she is big enough to play too while her littlest cousin Clara slept the day away.

Brother and Sister Just Hanging Out

We thought that Noah would tire of giving Lola hugs and kisses, but it has been 5 1/2 months and he still adores her. We have tried to keep him out of Lola's face with much difficulty. However, Lola now eggs him on and loves him to entertain her.
